On July 13th,  Daniel Lessner was the winner of the 2009 Ibla Grand Prize International Piano Competition, Special Bach Award for his performance of Bach's immortal Goldberg Variations. The competition, which is held annually in Ibla-Ragusa , Sicily , Italy , featured over 200 pianists and musicians from across the globe. Mr. Lessner's award will include recital and concerto appearances in Carnegie Hall Weill Auditorium in New York City , the Lancaster Symphony in Pennsylvania , Tchaikowsky Hall in Moscow , as well as other concerts around the world. This award marks Mr. Lessner's return to competition after a 20 year hiatus
